(As
the announcer reports Arthur rushes to his T.V. to
see the story unfolding live. Seeing all the police
and Navy officials, he says to himself out loud in
a state of great disappointment.)
Oh!
noooooo! Metso! Now look at what you’ve done. That
was a very big mistake my friend! Why didn’t you just
stay put! Now how I’m going to finish these studies
without Sweegee’s help.
(And as Brenda and Lil’Arthur are nearing her mother’s
home, they hear the report in the car as Lil’Arthur
says in an unconcerned voice.)
That must be Metso they are talking about mom. He’s
that tall. Granny lives in Jacksonville doesn’t she?
Wouldn’t it be cool if he came over to granny’s house
mom? No! Arthur that wouldn’t be cool at all son.
I want you to stop talking about Metso and don’t you
say a single word to her about him. Do you hear me?
Ok, mom!
I know I won’t have to say anything to her cause she
listens to this station a lot more then we do. Well
you just don’t say anything at all about it anyway
young man! Can I at least tell her that Metso is my
friend?

ABOUT
THE BOOK...
The
Manatee Warriors: defenders of Planet Moonark,
is a work of science fiction mixed with a
imaginary planet (Moonark) and some real life
people and places. It’s full of action, thrills,
tenderness and fun. |
|
It tells the story of how a group of Manatees
from a planet called Moonark were accidentally
transformed from a composite made by a robot
named Vedorr, and violently delivered to the
planet by a comet. Throughout the course of
the story the reader gets a view of what some
of the creatures on the planet are like, and
how these manatees relate to them while trying
to defend the planet from unwanted visitors
called Chocroids. Because the manatees don’t
fully understand how or why their bodies were
suddenly changed and have these new abilities.
Sometimes they have to leave Moonark in search
for all clues to their change. Earth is only
one of the many planets they’ve traveled to,
but it offers the best chance of finding the
most important ones. But once there in Florida,
they find that the Manatees on earth and some
of the humans are in need of some help themselves
and not really as interested in helping them,
as they are in getting a chance to see and study
them and the amazing ManaShip. With some assistance
from a smart and brave little boy named Arthur
who is fascinated with Mesto, and his father
Arthur Sr., who is obsessed with furthering
his own career by secretly trying to help the
outer space visitors. Even the president James
Holloway with the help of a close friend, Admiral
Wesley Williams, are trying to fulfill a childhood
dream and the Navy pursuing them thereby confusing
their reasons for being there. TM
